Angry Birds Cupcakes

Fondant makes so many neat design ideas possible with cakes and cupcakes…even turning them into Angry Birds! With just 6 or 7 basic colors of fondant, the folks at Bake For Happy Kids created these masterpieces of digital gaming for a 3 year old fan’s birthday party.

If you want to create something similar with your child’s favorite characters, just print pictures of the characters you are trying to make, cut out the shapes, and reassemble using a little frosting or piping gel. Your peeps will think they are super cool and delicious too!

T-Shirt Superhero Cape (And it’s No Sew!)

My boys love to pretend they are super heroes (I’m pretty sure most young kids do…) and we actually keep around old Halloween costume parts to mix and match during play time. If you want to make a cape that is a little more custom, here is a great way from Overworked Supermom to make a no-sew superhero cape using a t-shirt, scraps of fabric (for the super hero emblem,) and some Heat n’ Bond (turns any fabric into an iron on!)

Overworked Supermom uses the t-shirt as the base and maintains the original neckline…you could also snip the neckline down the center and add a velcro dot to make it “easy release” just in case it gets stuck n a door or something.
